EcoFly Sweden

Novair aircraft are very modern, meaning they have as minimal a negative impact on the environment as today’s technology allows. Furthermore, our charter flights are almost without exception direct flights, and with a seat occupancy rate of 98 percent emissions per passenger are minimized.

However, there are many more environmental measures that can be taken. Novair is the only charter airline that has collaborated with SAS and Luftfartsverket - the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority - as of the spring of 2007, with a project called EcoFly Sweden. The main purpose of the project is to minimize emissions as much as existing technology will allow. As of July 2007, Novair has carried out as environmentally-friendly flights as are practically possible.

By scrutinizing and changing flight procedures from take-offs to landings it has been possible to find simple and a safe means of flying with improved fuel efficiency. These more environmentally sound flights save Novair at least 250 kg of fuel per flight. This means 875 tonnes of fuel per annum, which in turn corresponds to more than 2700 tonnes less carbon dioxide emissions a year.
