Customs regulations in EU countries

Note that alcoholic beverages may only be taken into a country by a person that is over 20 years old, and tobacco products may only be taken into a country by someone who is over 18 years old. There are reference norms within the EU for determining whether goods are being brought into the country for private use or for commercial purposes. The lines between private and commercial purposes are determined as the following levels:

Tobacco goods: Cigarettes - 800 or, Cigarillos - 400 or, Cigars - 200 or, Pipe tobacco - 1 kg.

Alcohol products: Strong spirits - 10 litres. Medium products (e.g. fortified wines) -20 litres. Wines - 90 litres (of which a maximum of 60 litres of sparkling wine). Beer - 110 litres.

EU countries: Bulgaria (Jan 2007), Rumania (Jan 2007), Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, Great Britain, Greece, Spain (not the Canary Islands), Portugal, Austria, Finland and Sweden.
