Infants 0- to 2-years-old

The first rule applying to travel with a newborn is that both mother and child are in general good health. The child must be at least 7 days old and completely healthy. If the birth was a complication-free c-section delivery, the mother can travel 7 days after the procedure, provided she has a doctor’s certificate. Travel without a doctor’s certificate is allowed at the earliest at 14 days after a c-section. Two infants per adult person are allowed, although one of the infants has to travel in a baby seat which requires the booking of an extra plane seat.

Infants should sit on an adult’s lap during the flight. For the child’s safety, you will be provided with a special seatbelt for the child by the cabin crew which is fastened to your own seatbelt for take-off and landing, and a special baby life vest will also be provided.

It is possible to use a hanging cradle which is placed on the wall in front of you at certain seats. To book a hanging cradle go to Novair Details. The child can weigh 10 kg at the most, and should not be over 70 cm long.  Infant carrier seats can be brought on board but they have to be placed in plane seats of their own. An adult passenger is not allowed to travel with an infant carrier seat in their lap. Breadth: max 40 cm.  Depth: from back to foot (the chair is L-shaped) max 73 cm.

Novair does not carry any special baby food for infants; however, our cabin staff will assist in heating up jars of baby food, bottles of milk and so on.
