The PRM – persons with reduced mobility (movement-impaired)

"Person with reduced mobility means any person whose mobility when using transport is reduced due to any physical disability (sensory or locomotor, permanent or temporary), intellectual disability or impairment, or any other cause of disability, or age, and whose situation needs appropriate attention and the adaptation to his or her particular needs of the service made available to all passengers."

Airports provide different forms of assistance to passengers with reduced mobility. It is important that a passenger requiring assistance advises the tour operator of his/her needs already when making the reservation. The information is being forwarded by the tour operator to the airport through the operating airline. The airline is obliged to provide the information to the airport no later than 48 hours before the flight departure.

Assistance to persons with reduced mobility will be given by airports and will include assistance to and from a designated point at the airport to and from the aircraft, including embarking and disembarking. Within the EU, passengers with reduced mobility has the right to assistance according to following timings:

  • Assistance required from check-in: If no time is stipulated, no later than one hour before the published departure time,
  • Assistance required from Pick Up Point: If no time is stipulated, no later than two hours before the published departure time.
